Bertrand Meyer

Dr. Bertrand Meyer: Object-oriented technology, programming languages

One of the pioneers of modern software engineering and in particular object-oriented technology, his work extends a wide range of software engineering topics. He has extensive legal expertise experience, including software arbitration and patent litigation. He has published 10 books and over 200 articles, and received numerous awards for his work, including the ACM Software System Award, the Harlan Mills Award, the Dahl-Nygaard Award and the Jolt Award (for his best-selling book "Object-Oriented Software Construction"). He is a professor at ETH Zurich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, and the founder of Eiffel Software.

Mehdi Jazayeri

Dr. Mehdi Jazayeri: Design, architecture, processes

Dr. Jayazeri has been a consultant to the US Government and to multinational companies in the areas of software engineering, design, architecture, and processes. He was named an IEEE Fellow in 2007 and is also a Member of ACM, the Austrian, German, and Swiss Computer Societies. He is currently professor of computer science and founding dean of the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Lugano.

Manfred Broy

Dr. Manfred Broy: Embedded systems

Instrumental in establishing software engineering as a core discipline in Germany and the rest of Europe, Dr. Broy is an expert in the engineering of complex systems of which software is an important part (but usually not the only one). He has particular experience in embedded and real-time systems, and has played a pioneering role in the engineering of automotive systems, in collaboration with major car manufacturers. He has extensive experience of working as a consultant for industry and in legal cases involving advanced technology. He is is professor of computer science at the Technical University of Munich.

As a public appointed and attested expert (by the Chamber of Commerce), Wolfgang Lehnigk-Emden has over 25 years of experience in information processing systems as an expert witness in litigation, mediation and arbitration proceedings in Germany and neighboring countries. He also regularly advises companies and attorneys in IT disputes and mission-critical projects. In this activity, he has filed over 900 reports related to software defects, ownership, and valuation as well as forensics. His expertise ranges from the development of application software systems throughout many industries, especially commercial, as well as hardware systems.

Carlo Ghezzi

Dr. Carlo Ghezzi: Programming languages, methods and tools

Among his numerous publications, he is the coauthor of two of the most widely used textbooks in software technology, one on software engineering and the other on programming languages, both seminal references in their respective fields. His work covers a broad range of topics in software engineering, programming languages, and methods and tools. He is an ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow and a member of the Italian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Ghezzi is Chair of Software Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
